Emily lives and has a studio in Harvard, Massachusetts, surrounded by woodlands and the wildlife that inspires and often inhabits her paintings. She works primarily in oils, often working on several canvasses as they develop by chance rather than design. Animals show up in her work, usually unbidden, but always welcome, and are usually part of a story that comes from a dream, or a snippet of a fairy tale.
